About this role
What you will be doing: We’re looking for a results-oriented, self-motivated, and pragmatic Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about building highly scalable, user-friendly web applications, and wants to see their work directly help small businesses grow. You’ll be joining our Relationship/Retention team, where the focus is on deepening the value members get from their connections over time. This team builds the AI-assisted tools and workflows that help small business owners nurture relationships and turn them into referrals — think intelligent writing assistance, relationship management features, and follow-up experiences that keep members engaged and growing. You will be closely involved from the earliest stages of identifying problems and scoping solutions, working alongside product management, design, growth marketing, and business partners. As a Senior Engineer at client company , you’ll be a key technical voice: shaping how we build, influencing what we build, and raising the bar for quality across the team. You’ll drive technical decisions with confidence, contribute meaningfully across the full stack, and help grow the engineers around you. We are building AI-powered features across the platform and are looking for someone excited to play a meaningful role in that — designing systems that incorporate LLMs, defining evaluation strategies, and closing the loop between model output and real user behavior. This position is based in India. To be eligible, you must live in India and have authorization to work in India without sponsorship. You must also be willing to overlap with our US-based team's daily working hours from at least 9am - 1pm Eastern Time (eg. Boston, MA, USA), Monday through Friday.
What success looks like:
- Take ownership of significant features from concept to production, collaborating closely with small cross-functional teams.
- Serve as a go-to technical voice on the team, contributing to architecture decisions, driving technical discussions, and proactively identifying risks and opportunities.
- Use data to drive rapid testing and iteration on features and technical decisions.
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy, working independently with product managers and designers.
- Design and iterate on LLM-powered features using structured evaluation frameworks.
- Build feedback loops that continuously improve AI systems, leveraging user behavior, annotations, and experimentation.
- Contribute to the development of scalable LLM infrastructure.
- Help define quality standards for AI outputs (accuracy, relevance, tone, safety) and ensure they are measurable and improving over time.
- Get to know our members through video calls, site observation, and close collaboration with our customer success team.
- Dive deep into data to draw insights that inform feature suggestions and product improvements.
- Raise the technical bar of the team through code reviews, thoughtful feedback, and knowledge sharing.
About our tech stack:
- Frontend : Typescript, React, Jest
- Backend : Ruby on Rails, Elixir, Phoenix, Go
- Databases : Postgres, Redis, DynamoDB, OpenSearch
- Mobile apps : Kotlin and Swift
- Deployment : CI/CD with Github and AWS
- Analytics : Kinesis, Lambda, Python, Pandas, Snowflake
- Machine Learning: Pytorch, Tensorflow, Sagemaker
- LLMs : Claude, GPT, plus other AI tools
What you will bring:
- 5-8 years of experience as a full stack software developer in OOP; React.js required; Ruby or Elixir is a strong plus.
- Hands-on experience building or integrating LLM-powered features into production systems.
- Familiarity with LLM evaluation techniques and the ability to design feedback loops that improve model performance over time.
- Experience building LLM infrastructure.
- Experience designing, developing, and deploying enterprise solutions using AWS.
- A proven track record of owning complex features end-to-end and driving them to production with quality and speed.
- Strong oral and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and thrive in a dynamic environment. • Ability to collaborate effectively with and informally mentor a diverse, talented team. • Experience in Agile/Scrum enterprise-scale software development.
- Experience building and operating scalable, reliable software.
- Experience working closely with Product teams; driving product requirements independently is a plus.
