Responsibilities

Software Engineering Platform Development

• You will combine strong software engineering fundamentals with AI-assisted ways of working and the ability to contribute across the end-to-end solution lifecycle.
• Your primary accountability remains engineering delivery, expected to flex into adjacent responsibilities (business analysis, quality engineering, data, and automation) as business and delivery needs evolve.
• Design, build, test, debug, deploy, and maintain web, API, integration, batch, and data-enabled applications using C#, .NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, and relevant modern frameworks.
• Develop responsive front-end experiences and reliable middleware and backend services using sound object-oriented, API, integration, and database design principles.
• Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to create modular, observable, resilient, secure, and scalable solutions across AWS, Azure, or equivalent cloud platforms.
• Apply clean-code practices, design patterns, peer reviews, unit testing, version control, Agile delivery and CI/CD throughout the development lifecycle.
• Own software quality and operability by addressing performance, reliability, maintainability, accessibility, security, privacy, and technical debt.
• Prepare and maintain solution documentation, operational guidance, release notes, and support materials.
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools such as Amazon Q, Kiro, Microsoft Copilot, or equivalent tools for design exploration, coding, refactoring, test generation, documentation, troubleshooting, and productivity improvement, with appropriate human review.

AI Innovation

• Apply foundational Generative AI and Agentic AI concepts to relevant engineering and delivery use-cases.
• Prototype solutions using prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), tool use, orchestration, evaluation, and human-in-the-loop patterns.
• Explore frameworks and services such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, Amazon Bedrock, Azure AI, or equivalent technologies.
• Apply responsible AI practices, including data protection, security, accuracy validation, explainability, traceability, and appropriate human oversight.
• Contribute ideas and reusable assets that improve engineering productivity, customer experience, delivery quality, and operational efficiency.

Business Analysis Solution Design

• Collaborate with clients, product owners, architects, business analysts, quality engineers, and other partners to understand business outcomes and translate them into clear functional and technical requirements.
• Document requirements, user journeys, acceptance criteria, interfaces, data flows, dependencies, risks, and non-functional needs.
• Analyze business, application, and customer data to inform solution choices, including CRM, loyalty, and marketing technology use cases where applicable.
• Contribute to discovery sessions, design workshops, estimation, and solution reviews, balancing user value, feasibility, quality, security, scalability, and cost.
• Use AI-assisted analysis and documentation tools responsibly to accelerate discovery, improve traceability, and validate completeness and accuracy.

Quality Engineering Automation

• Define and implement unit, integration, API, UI, regression, data, performance, and negative test scenarios aligned to requirements and risk.
• Validate application and data quality using SQL, backend verification, logs, telemetry, and defect analysis.
• Build and maintain automated tests using tools and frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Postman, ReadyAPI, or equivalent technologies.
• Embed quality engineering into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous validation across the software development lifecycle.
• Use AI-assisted techniques to improve test design, coverage analysis, defect triage, and automation, while validating generated outputs for correctness and reliability.

Collaboration, Ownership

• Take end-to-end ownership of assigned outcomes, communicate progress and risks early, and support delivery through to production stability.
• Flex across development, analysis, testing, data, cloud, automation, documentation, and support activities based on team priorities, while maintaining depth in core engineering capability.
• Participate in solution and code reviews, knowledge sharing, communities of practice, retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor peers where appropriate, contribute to a collaborative team culture, and invest in continuous learning as technologies and delivery models evolve.

Qualifications

Essential Education Experience

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience delivering and supporting production-grade applications.
• Experience delivering complex initiatives using disciplined engineering, Agile, DevOps, and quality practices.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex software problems and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.

Core Technical Skills

• Strong programming capability in C#/.NET and working proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript, with sound understanding of object-oriented principles and design patterns.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, MVC/Web API, web services, and modern front-end frameworks such as React or Angular.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, responsive web development, and unit-testing frameworks such as NUnit or equivalent.
• Strong SQL, relational database design, data modelling, and database fundamentals; exposure to MySQL, Oracle, DynamoDB, Snowflake, Redshift, or equivalent platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Git-based version control, peer review, build automation, CI/CD, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Understanding of software development, testing, release, support, security, and operational lifecycles.
• Working knowledge of QA automation and API testing tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Postman, ReadyAPI, or equivalent.

AI Future Skills

• Practical understanding of Generative AI, Agentic AI, prompt engineering, RAG, and AI-assisted software delivery.
• Exposure to LangChain, LangGraph, Amazon Bedrock, Azure AI, or similar AI frameworks and services.
• Ability to use AI-assisted tools for analysis, design, coding, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and workflow automation, with disciplined verification of outputs.
• Ability to identify valuable AI use cases, prototype responsibly, evaluate outcomes, and communicate findings through demonstrations, case studies, or presentations.
• Awareness of responsible AI, privacy, security, intellectual property, and data-handling considerations.

Desirable Skills Experience

• Cloud-native and serverless services, including AWS EC2, S3, Lambda, Redshift, or equivalent services.
• Unix/Linux command line, Bash or PowerShell scripting, Python automation, and application observability.
• Workflow automation using n8n, Make, Zapier, low-code/no-code platforms, or equivalent technologies.
• Experience with performance engineering, distributed systems, data platforms, CRM, loyalty, or marketing technology solutions.
