Senior Software Engineer

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer who loves building, debugging, and scaling systems end-to-end. You'll work across our NodeJS and Python backend services, Next.js frontend, and Electron app, collaborating with product and design teams to ship features that matter. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on writing great code, designing robust systems, and mentoring others while still getting their hands dirty solving hard technical problems.

Responsibilities:

• Own features from idea to production: architect, implement, review code, and roll out business-critical functionality.
• Work across the stack primarily on NodeJS, Python, and React/Next.js, but be ready to jump into other stacks (Go/Java) when needed.
• Keep systems healthy and maintain and improve service reliability, performance, and observability.
• Debug like a detective, leading troubleshooting and root cause analysis using logs, metrics, and distributed tracing.
• Design data models; work with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis; optimize queries and schema design.
• Build async workflow designs and optimize message-driven systems using RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Collaborate cross-functionally and partner with product managers and designers to translate requirements into clean, scalable solutions.
• Mentor the team; guide junior engineers through code reviews, pairing sessions, and design discussions.

Requirements:

• 4-7 years of experience building and shipping production applications.
• Strong skills in NodeJS, Python, and React/Next.js ; you're comfortable working across backend and frontend.
• Excellent problem-solving fundamentals and solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and async/sync programming paradigms.
• Database expertise: hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL (Postgres, MongoDB, Redis), including query optimization and indexing.
• Understanding of messaging systems; experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar event-driven architectures.
• System design mindset: familiarity with scalability patterns, refactoring strategies, and tradeoffs.
• Observability experience: you know how to instrument, monitor, and debug distributed systems using logs, metrics, and traces.
• Production debugging chops: you've debugged incidents, written postmortems, and implemented fixes.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with GCP or AWS and awareness of cost optimization strategies.
• Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and release management.
• Familiarity with AI/ML integrations or building features powered by LLMs.
