About this role
Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines and data solutions.
- Work extensively with Snowflake, AWS, dbt, SQL, and Python to build and optimize data platforms.
- Design and implement robust data warehouse (DWH) solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
- Apply appropriate data modelling techniques to support analytical, reporting, and downstream data requirements.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, transformations, and data processing workflows.
- Build and maintain dbt models, transformations, tests.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, scalability, performance, and reliability across data solutions.
- Collaborate closely with data engineers, architects, analysts, product teams, and stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into effective technical data solutions and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
- Troubleshoot data and pipeline issues and contribute to root-cause analysis and resolution.best practices around coding, version control, testing, documentation, and deployment.
- Take ownership of deliverables and proactively communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and technical challenges.
- Strong hands-on experience in Data Engineering with a solid understanding of modern data platforms and architectures.
- Strong experience with Snowflake and cloud-based data solutions
- Hands-on experience with dbt for data transformation and modelling.
- Strong knowledge of AWS data and cloud services.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and good programming experience in Python.
- Strong understanding of Data Warehousing concepts and Data Modelling.
- Practical experience implementing a variety of data modelling techniques, including dimensional modelling and other appropriate approaches
- Experience designing scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformation workflows.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Normalization: 1NF, 2NF, 3NF, functional dependencies, primary/foreign keys, and practical examples. Data Vault: Hub, Link, Satellite, and when/why Data Vault is used. Data Mesh: Domain ownership, data as a product, self-service data platform, federated governance. Fivetran: Database/source-system ingestion and how it differs from other ingestion approaches. Data pipeline architecture: Source → ingestion → Snowflake → DBT/transformation → data products.
