Role Purpose

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, testing, integration, deployment, and lifecycle support of software products and applications.

The role requires a highly skilled and experienced software professional who can independently develop complex software solutions, contribute to software architecture and technical decisions, mentor junior engineers, and ensure the delivery of secure, reliable, and high-quality software products.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development

• Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain high-quality software applications and systems.
• Participate in the complete Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirement analysis, system design, development, code review, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Develop scalable, secure, reliable, and high-performance software solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-documented code.
• Perform troubleshooting and debugging complex software issues.

Software Design & Architecture

• Contribute to software architecture and system design discussions.
• Develop modular and scalable software components.
• Participate in architecture reviews, design reviews, and code reviews.
• Ensure software solutions meet functional, performance, security, and reliability requirements.
• Support the integration of software with hardware, embedded systems, APIs, databases, and third-party applications where required.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Develop and execute unit testing and integration testing.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve software defects and performance issues.
• Participate in peer code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Ensure software meets required quality, reliability, and operational performance standards.

Secure & Mission-Critical Software Development

• Follow secure software development practices and cybersecurity standards.
• Contribute to the development of secure and reliable applications for mission-critical environments.
• Support the development of Real-Time Systems, Embedded Software, Simulation Software, Tactical Systems, UAV Software, and other specialized applications where applicable.
• Ensure appropriate consideration of system reliability, data security, and operational performance.

Collaboration & Project Delivery

• Work closely with Software Engineers, Embedded Engineers, QA Engineers, DevOps Engineers, UI/UX Engineers, and other multidisciplinary teams.
• Collaborate with technical leads and project stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver software solutions.
• Support project planning, estimation, task prioritization, and timely delivery.
• Identify technical risks and provide appropriate solutions or recommendations.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior software engineers.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in Software Development.
• Strong hands-on experience in designing, developing, testing, and deploying software applications.
• Experience working with complex and scalable software systems.
• Experience in Embedded Systems, Defence, Aerospace, Robotics, UAVs, AI, Simulation, or Mission-Critical Systems will be an added advantage.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Real-Time or Embedded Software Systems.
• Knowledge of Secure Software Development practices.
• Experience in Mission-Critical or Safety-Critical Applications.
• Understanding Software Architecture and Design Patterns.
• Experience with Cloud-based applications and Microservices.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and automated deployment pipelines.
