Senior Software Engineer

Role: AI Agent Engineer Onsite Tokyo, Japan

About the work

Build a telecom clients next-generation AI agents. Working with business stakeholders, drive the design, implementation, and production operation of autonomous AI agents supporting end users and business partners across use cases like network, construction, and customer support.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop AI agents, including orchestration across MCP, tools, and backend systems
• Define functional and non-functional requirements from business needs and user pain points
• Build and improve AI agent and MCP platforms using LLM APIs and modern agent frameworks
• Design context management via knowledge bases and RAG; integrate with internal/external APIs
• Own deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting in production

Must-have

• 2+ years building systems that incorporate ML/AI
• Hands-on AI agent development using agent frameworks
• Context engineering to tune agent behavior and response quality
• Track record of validating impact against product KPIs and driving improvement
• Business-level English — TOEIC 800+
• Applied ML on real business problems, or Master’s+/research background
• DevOps / LLMOps (Docker, CI/CD)
• Cloud infra, especially GCP
• 5+ years full-stack experience
• Japanese — business level preferred (day-to-day on-site comms are in Japanese, so a real plus)
