Role & responsibilities

Analysis & Design

• Analyses impact of requirements and works with senior team members on software solutions. Must consider usability, extensibility, efficiency, and performance during all phases of development. Builds secure, maintainable, testable, and evolvable software. Participates in designing software solutions and prepares technical documentation. Participates in design reviews. Contributes to the product backlogs. Adopts Enterprise initiatives as required. Helps develop business relationships and integrate activities with other IT departments as appropriate to ensure successful implementation and support efforts.
• Development
• Estimation: Develops technical estimates and timeframes without having complete information and provides confidence level in estimate.
• Coding: Designs and builds complex business applications and prepares technical specifications to develop software solutions. Adopts FM Global best practices, architectural principles, and security standards. Develops software to transform and migrate data across environments. Actively participates in peer code reviews and is responsible for code quality.
• Test Automation: Responsible for writing pre-deployment automated tests for own delivered code. Participates in testing and debugging of overall system as required. Reviews automated test code to ensure appropriate test coverage. Demonstrates ability to setup and monitor automated tests in the CICD pipeline.
• Support: Supports effort to implement application in production and support post-production. Development work includes detailed, high quality documentation at appropriate level to allow for maintenance and support. Supports reduction of technical debt and mitigates risks associated with upgrades.
• Research
• Participates in continuous improvement through experimentation to stay abreast of the changing technological landscape and presents value to the product organization. Engages in delivery of applicable enterprise initiatives. Participates within learning forums. Understands the technology/business landscape.

Skill and Experience:

• 3+ years of experience required to perform essential job functions.
• Additional Experience Qualifier (optional): 5+ years of application development experience with large scale business applications in a fastpaced iterative development environment.
• 3+ years designing, developing, and implementing business applications from business concept through production.
• Object-oriented design, development, and implementation of business applications in current computing architectures.
• Working knowledge of some of the relevant technologies: front end tools, middleware, Databases, ORMs, development frameworks, design patterns, API design, Test Automation, DevOps, Cloud Architecture, and Enterprise Integration Patterns.
• Ability to demonstrate skills in solving complex problems within the scope of the team.
• Strong analytical skills preferred.
• Ability to develop accurate estimates for complex solutions.
• Strong interpersonal skills are required.
• Strong work ethic and ability to demonstrate personal accountability for successful product delivery.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to translate technical concepts to the appropriate level of the audience.

Must Have Skills:

• Production ML pipeline design (training to deployment) - Build repeatable ML workflows that cover data ingest, feature engineering, training, evaluation, model packaging, and deployment, with clear promotion steps across dev, test, and prod.
• CI/CD for ML systems (code, data, and models)- Implement pipelines that version and test not only application code, but also datasets, features, and model artifacts, including automated validation, gating, and rollback strategies for model releases.
• Model lifecycle management and governance - Track experiments, register models, manage approvals, and maintain lineage across datasets, features, training runs, and deployed versions, ensuring reproducibility and controlled promotion.
• Observability for ML in production - Implement monitoring for service health and ML behavior, including data drift, concept drift, prediction distribution shifts, performance decay, latency, and model errors, with actionable alerts and dashboards.
• Feature engineering and feature store patterns- Create reliable feature pipelines and manage online and offline feature consistency, handling backfills, late arriving data, and point-in-time correctness to avoid training-serving skew.
• Scalable inference architecture - Design inference services with the right deployment pattern for the use case, for example batch scoring vs real-time APIs, autoscaling, GPU or CPU optimization, caching, and cost-aware scaling.
• Data quality, validation, and testing discipline - Implement automated checks for schema changes, missingness, outliers, label leakage, and training-serving mismatches, and embed these checks into the pipeline so bad data does not ship.
• Security, compliance, and reliability for ML workloads - Apply least privilege, secrets management, artifact signing, and controlled access to datasets and models, plus resilience patterns like canary releases, blue-green deployments, and incident-ready runbooks.
