Senior Software Engineer – UC - Bangalore

Job Description As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our UC engineering team, working on a diverse range of projects and tasks. Your primary focus will be on the CUCM ecosystem, where you will contribute to platform services, provisioning workflows, and API/service integration. With a strong background in C++, Python, and Java, you will design, develop, and maintain software features, ensuring high-quality and efficient solutions. This role also involves mentoring junior engineers and promoting secure SDLC practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain UC software features using C++, Python, and Java.
• Contribute to platform services, provisioning workflows, and API/service integration.
• Debug complex issues across various environments, including application, service, data, networking, and Linux.
• Enhance test coverage across different layers, such as unit, integration, system, regression, and performance testing.
• Utilize AI tools like Codex and GitHub Copilot for coding and testing acceleration.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and skill development.
• Ensure secure SDLC practices are followed and promote best engineering practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end features across UC components.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, especially in the UC domain.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience in Linux/distributed environments.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and working knowledge of Python and/or Java.
• Experience with scalable/distributed architecture and troubleshooting.
• Proven track record of improving test coverage and engineering quality.
• Practical experience with AI coding tools, such as Codex and GitHub Copilot.
• Familiarity with UC products and provisioning systems is preferred.
• Understanding of VoIP and SIP concepts is an advantage.
• Knowledge of virtualization/container ecosystems and security compliance is beneficial.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
