Job Title: Senior Software Engineer – Java, SQL & AWS

About the Role We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and enhance enterprise software solutions that support our global business teams. In this role, you will develop in-house applications and integrate third-party platforms, including Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions. You will be involved throughout the software development lifecycle—from solution design and technical planning to implementation, deployment, and production support. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with a collaborative mindset and a passion for delivering scalable, secure, and cloud-native solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, secure, high-performance, and cost-effective software solutions.
• Translate business requirements into robust technical designs and implementation plans.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and development teams to define project scope and ensure technical feasibility.
• Provide technical leadership by reviewing designs and guiding junior engineers and external development partners.
• Deliver projects on schedule while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.
• Develop and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications and cloud-native services.
• Create, maintain, and improve technical documentation and architectural artifacts.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide third-level application support.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve application architecture, development processes, and engineering practices.
• Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and contribute to the long-term evolution of the application platform.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or another quantitative or engineering discipline.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably within financial services or other enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in Java application development.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native application development.
• Strong experience designing and developing applications using relational databases and SQL.
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including system design, testing, security, and performance optimization.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:
• AWS Glue, Apache Airflow, or Control-M for application and data integration
• Serverless architectures using AWS Lambda and related services
• Microservices architecture and RESTful API development
• CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Messaging and streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka or Amazon Kinesis
• Snowflake data warehousing
• AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Amazon Q
• Integration of pre-trained AI/LLM models into enterprise applications
