Senior Software Engineer I / II

Job Description

You will be part of a growing team developing products for the insurance industry, working with insurance companies, suppliers, police forces and all supporting industries - both within the UK and Worldwide.

The ideal candidates will be able to hit the ground running with a variety of projects, working both alone and as part of the team.

We are currently driving cutting-edge technical change making use of the latest cloud technologies, serverless and micro services architecture to meet our client and business requirements

Responsibilities

• Design and build component-based applications in a web/internet delivery environment.
• Work on new and existing applications along with enhancements to websites, web applications and mobile applications.
• Design, develop and support of applications using current and new development technologies.
• Scope, implement, test and deploy new features and versions of core applications, databases and utilities.
• Perform hands-on coding and designing of solutions that meet our business goals.
• Raise issues during sprint development cycle
• Contribute to continuous improvement through retrospectives
• Work with Product Managers to collect and document user requirements, development of user stories/tasks, producing estimates for each change.
• Assist with providing third-level support when appropriate.
• Write design technical documents, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software.
• Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Accurate time tracking
  
  

Qualifications

• Commercial experience of server-side C# / .Net Core (likely to be gained from at least 3 years of professional experience), certification would be beneficial
• SQL (Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL preferred)
• Knowledge of Automation toolsets
• Experience of deploying applications to AWS
• Microsoft Visual Studio
• MVC
• Industry standard API integrations (JSON, Restful etc. SOAP experience a plus)
• Source Control such as Git
• A love of technology and desire to continuously develop and improve
  
  

Highly Desirable

• Knowledge of AI development tools
• Knowledge of Front-end Frameworks & technologies such as Vue.js / React / Anglar / HTML5 / CSS / jQuery / Bootstrap
• Scrum/Agile Methodology
• Experience of deploying and developing applications into AWS
• Knowledge of design patterns
• Experience of the Insurance industry
• Knowledge of micro-services architecture
• Knowledge of serverless architecture (E.g., Lambda's)
• Knowledge of Low Code / No Code solutions
• Experience of Test-Driven Development
• Experience of CI/CD pipelines
• Message Bus technologies
