Senior Software Engineer - Frontend (React Native)

This role sits within the in-house Software Engineering team building for ZED, covering native Android apps, iOS apps and in-house hosted web portals. The Senior Engineer is responsible for the stability and performance of the applications, and for code quality metrics including unit test coverage, limiting code smells and incorporating security best practices. The role works directly with Product and the SVP to close on requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain Android and iOS mobile applications and in-house hosted web portals.
• Ensure the performance, reliability and functionality of applications across a range of OEMs and OS versions.
• Own refinement and estimation of strategic product roadmap items and produce a deliverables roadmap.
• Write clean, maintainable and efficient code; develop and maintain technical documentation.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues in the applications.
• Stay up to date with the latest developments in the Android, iOS and web development ecosystem.
• Drive code and design reviews, ensuring code quality, correct LLD and unit test coverage.
• Propose and drive engineering best practices and contribute to engineering excellence.
• Work with product and design teams to translate product requirements into an extensible technical solution.
• Mentor and participate in the technical growth of junior developers working alongside the SVP.
• Run stand-ups and sprint grooming sessions with product counterparts.

Requirements:

• More than 6 years of experience building performant and stable B2C apps in at least one of React Native, Android Native, ReactJS or iOS Native.
• Strong experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Sentry and Crashlytics.
• Experience partnering with product to tune requirements and PRDs.
• Track record of releasing B2C apps to the Play Store and App Store.
• Experience overseeing release of web portals with a sound understanding of backend system architecture.
• 6+ years of app and web development experience.
• Experience building native Android apps for highly scalable B2C use cases.
• Predictable delivery of product features within agreed SLA, with high-quality code and extensible design.
• Stability and performance of apps across form factors, OEMs and OS platforms.
• Systematic incorporation of engineering best practices in the team.
• Stability and availability of in-house web portals.
