Senior Software Engineer - DevOps

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to own and improve the infrastructure and platform systems that power Karta's production applications. You will drive cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, deployment reliability, and incident response while helping the engineering team build and operate systems at scale.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and production platforms.
• Own infrastructure initiatives end-to-end, from architecture and automation to deployment and operations.
• Build and improve infrastructure-as-code practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor production systems, troubleshoot incidents, and improve reliability and availability.
• Identify opportunities to improve scalability, security, infrastructure costs, and deployment efficiency.
• Manage containerised workloads, networking, load balancing, and autoscaling.
• Establish best practices for observability, change management, security, and production readiness.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to infrastructure design and operational reviews.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience building and operating production infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong proficiency in infrastructure as code using Terraform, CDK, or similar tools.
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or equivalent tools.
• Strong understanding of Linux, networking, containers, and distributed systems.
• Experience operating Kubernetes or ECS-style container platforms.
• Understanding of message queues, load balancing, autoscaling, and production troubleshooting.
• Strong focus on automation, observability, security, reliability, and cost optimisation.
• Experience owning production systems, handling incidents, and mentoring engineers.

Good to Have:

• Experience with real-time or media infrastructure, WebRTC, telephony, or streaming workloads.
• Experience managing SIP servers.
• Knowledge of multi-account or multi-region cloud architecture, VPNs, and private connectivity.
• Experience with observability stacks, SLOs, and incident management in a product environment.
• Experience with access control, secrets management, audit logging, or security compliance.
