Senior Software Engineer - CLI & Configuration Management

Responsibilities

• Implement the CLI command parser, execution engine, and interactive features (tab completion, history, pipe filters)
• Implement configuration datastores (candidate/running/startup), transactional commit/rollback, and validation
• Implement YANG model integration and YANG-to-CLI mapping, with OpenConfig/IETF model support
• Write and test Python/C code, and optimize CLI response time and configuration processing performance
• Mentor 2-3 junior engineers and collaborate with the Principal Engineer and protocol teams on CLI/config integration

Requirements

• Strong understanding of network device configuration and management concepts
• Hands-on experience implementing CLI interfaces or configuration management systems
• Experience with Linux systems programming and scripting

Nice to Have

• Network OS CLI development experience, NETCONF/RESTCONF implementation
• OpenConfig/IETF YANG models, AAA protocols (RADIUS, TACACS+), gRPC and Protocol Buffers
• Configuration templating (Jinja2), automation tools (Ansible, Terraform), CI/CD for CLI testing
