What You'll Do As a

Senior Software Engineer/Systems analyst , you'll play a key role in designing, developing, and evolving the backend services that power DAZN's global platform. Working within a collaborative, cross-functional engineering team, you'll help build resilient, scalable, and high-performing solutions while driving engineering excellence through best practices, technical leadership, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services using

Node.js and

TypeScript , delivering secure and resilient solutions for millions of users worldwide.

• Develop and optimise

RESTful and

GraphQL APIs using frameworks such as

NestJS and

ExpressJS , ensuring high-quality, reusable, and maintainable code.

• Collaborate closely with

Product Management, Engineering, QA, DevOps, Architecture, and UX teams to deliver customer-centric features from concept through production.

• Design and implement cloud-native, microservices-based applications leveraging modern engineering practices and

AWS cloud services.

• Build efficient and scalable data models, integrating with both

SQL and

NoSQL databases while ensuring data integrity, performance, and reliability.

• Drive engineering excellence by contributing to

Low-Level Design (LLD) discussions, creating and reviewing pseudocode, evaluating design patterns, and promoting clean architecture principles.

• Champion software quality through unit testing, code reviews, CI/CD best practices, and adherence to engineering standards.
• Monitor application health, troubleshoot production issues, and continuously optimise system performance, scalability, observability, and reliability.
• Contribute to technical design discussions, architectural decisions, and continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering organisation.
• Mentor junior engineers, share technical expertise, and foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing engineering culture.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, backend engineering trends, and industry best practices, proactively identifying opportunities to improve platform capabilities and developer productivity.
