Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to join our Offshore Development Centre in India.
The successful candidate will design, develop and deliver secure, scalable and high-performing software solutions using the Microsoft .NET ecosystem, AWS and Azure. This role will contribute to technical design and architecture, cloud deployment, code quality and continuous improvement while collaborating with onshore and offshore teams.
The position will also provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers and support the successful delivery of technology projects across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain secure, scalable and high-performing applications using C#, ASP.NET Core and Entity Framework Core.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices deployed across AWS and Azure environments.
- Support applications developed using Microsoft technologies such as ASP.NET, MVC, Razor Views, NHibernate and Dapper.
- Participate in architectural discussions, technical design sessions and solution planning.
- Contribute to integrations involving Large Language Models and AI technologies, including OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, AI agents and multimodal solutions.
- Develop and deploy applications using AWS services such as EC2, S3, ELB, ECS, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway and Data Lakes.
- Support cloud-based application development and deployment using relevant Microsoft Azure services.
- Build and maintain automated deployment pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy or equivalent CI/CD tools.
- Write clean, maintainable and testable code in accordance with SOLID principles, design patterns and software-development best practices.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with coding standards, security requirements and architectural guidelines.
- Develop and maintain unit tests using frameworks such as xUnit, NUnit and Moq.
- Collaborate with onshore and offshore developers, product managers, testers and DevOps engineers.
- Guide and mentor junior developers within the offshore development team.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives.
- Monitor applications and troubleshoot production and non-production issues using tools such as CloudWatch, Athena and ELK.
- Take ownership of debugging, performance tuning and resolving complex technical issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across development practices, tools and delivery processes.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum five years of hands-on software-development experience using Microsoft .NET technologies.
- Strong experience with C#, ASP.NET Core and Entity Framework Core.
- Strong experience with SQL Server and T-SQL.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-based application deployment.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Strong understanding of relational databases, including SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline or equivalent technologies.
- Experience with unit-testing frameworks such as xUnit, NUnit and Moq.
- Strong understanding of software-engineering principles, SOLID principles and software-design patterns.
- Ability to write clean, secure, maintainable and testable code.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging and performance-tuning capabilities.
- Experience working within Agile software-development environments.
- Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with globally distributed onshore and offshore teams.
Preferred / Desirable Experience
- Experience developing and deploying applications using Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with Docker and container-orchestration services such as Amazon ECS or Amazon EKS.
- Experience with older Microsoft technologies, including ASP.NET, MVC and Razor Views.
- Experience using data-access technologies such as NHibernate and Dapper.
- Exposure to Domain-Driven Design and event-driven architecture.
- Experience integrating applications with Large Language Models and AI platforms.
- Exposure to OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, AI agents or multimodal AI solutions.
- Experience working in financial services, wealth management, banking, insurance or another regulated industry.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant AWS, Azure or Microsoft technical certifications are advantageous.
