Who we are We are a start-up team, establishing a new digital bank, partnering with one of the largest banks in Japan. We are building embedded finance products from the ground up. Our initial target customer base is Money Forward Cloud, Japan’s leading Fin-Tech SaaS provider for accounting and back office operations.

About the role Based in **MFI India**. Collaborates with **CQO Office (Japan)** as the primary stakeholder and the **CISO organization (Japan)** as a secondary stakeholder. The role is located in India so MFI India engineering teams have a dedicated, accessible security engineer for day-to-day questions and enablement.
What will you do? This role applies hands-on security engineering and development skills to collaborate with CQO tools engineers, the CISO security division, QA, and product development teams across Money Forward Group. As a Senior Security Engineer, you will:
CQO Office (Japan, primary)
- Help define the security portion of company-wide quality gates
- Define security requirements and guardrails for AI initiatives across the organization.
- Create guidelines for developers to use secure coding with AI—including scanning, remediation, CI/CD integration, and related workflows
CISO organization (Japan, secondary)
- Support day-to-day security tasks in collaboration with the security division
MFI India developer support
- Develop security training content and courses for engineering teams
- Be the first point of contact for developer security questions and host internal learning sessions Requirements
- Basic understanding of computer science, including networks, operating systems, data structures, and cryptographic theory
- 5+ years of development experience in any programming language, or equivalent practical experience in security engineering and security-by-design
- Knowledge or experience in any of the following:
- Application security / vulnerability assessment (SAST, SCA, DAST, or manual code review)
- Building and operating DevSecOps practices—integrating security checks into CI/CD pipelines
- Secret and credential management—detecting leaked secrets in repositories and enforcing controls via pre-commit hooks or pipeline gates
- Cloud and SaaS security—secure configuration, IAM fundamentals, and multi-tenant isolation concepts
- Scripting and tool development in at least one language (e.g., Python, Go, Ruby, TypeScript) to build security automation
- Experience working with distributed engineering teams and influencing security standards across multiple products.
- Business-level English (written and spoken) for cross-region collaboration with Japan HQ and business units
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience in CTF competitions, bug bounty programs, or obtaining CVEs
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, OSCP, GCIH, or equivalent
- Deep understanding of authentication and authorization, including OIDC, OAuth, and session management
- Experience operationalizing SonarQube or similar SAST tools at enterprise scale
- Experience with GitHub Advanced Security, GitLeaks, TruffleHog, or comparable secret-scanning tools
- Experience defining tenant isolation or multi-tenant SaaS security patterns
- Experience building LLM-based security analysis or AI guardrails (e.g., prompt injection detection, model output validation)
- Open-source contributions to security tooling
- Experience in security-related work in the financial or Fin-tech industry, such as FISC awareness or regulated-environment requirements
- Experience in AI development and/or experience in using AI tools to improve security or development processes. Money Forward is at a major turning point, shifting "from Cloud to AI."
