Senior Sdet Test Engineer

Desired Experience

• 8+ years of experience in software testing, test automation, SDET, or a related software engineering role within a product/project development environment.
• Strong hands-on experience in software test automation and automation framework development, with the ability to write production-quality automation code.
• Strong programming experience in C#, .NET, Python, or other relevant programming languages.
• Hands-on experience working with Linux operating systems, including command-line operations, shell scripting, process management, file permissions, environment variables, package/dependency management, system troubleshooting, and log analysis.
• Experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks for Desktop and Web applications and building comprehensive test scenarios and acceptance tests.
• Good understanding of CI/CD practices and Azure DevOps, including automated test execution and integration of test automation into pipelines.
• Experience with source control, code reviews, build systems, and software development practices.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, test design techniques, defect lifecycle, and risk-based test coverage.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Ability to independently investigate complex technical problems, perform root-cause analysis, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive, results-oriented, and comfortable working in a collaborative engineering environment.

• Strong understanding of SDET principles and automation architecture.

Linux & System Troubleshooting

• Strong hands-on experience with Linux-based environments.
• Comfortable using the Linux command line for application deployment, configuration, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with emulators and compatibility layers in Linux environments, particularly Wine/Proton, including basic understanding of their architecture, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with shell scripting and Linux utilities.
• Ability to investigate application crashes, processes, permissions, environment configuration, dependencies, and system/resource issues.

• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills, with the ability to investigate complex problems across application, automation, and operating-system layers.
