Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage infantschildren and adolescents with congenital and acquired heart diseases.
- Conduct detailed cardiovascular assessmentformulate diagnoses and develop treatment plans.
- Manage common congenital heart diseasescyanotic heart diseaseheart failurearrhythmias and paediatric cardiac emergencies.
- Perform and interpret ECGschest X-rays and other basic cardiac investigations.
- Assist in and perform echocardiography under appropriate supervisionincluding 2DDoppler and colour Doppler studies.
- Assist in transcatheter interventions such as device closuresballoon valvuloplasty and other catheter-based proceduresas applicable.
- Participate in pre- and post-operative management of children undergoing congenital heart surgery.
- Manage patients in the paediatric cardiac ICU and high-dependency areas.
- Recognise and manage acute deteriorationcyanotic spellsarrhythmias and cardiac failure.
- Participate in inpatient roundsOPD servicesemergency duties and on-call responsibilities.
- Counsel parents/guardians regarding diagnosistreatment optionsprognosis and follow-up.
- Maintain accurate clinical recordsprocedure notes and discharge summaries.
- Participate in academic activitiescase discussionsteachingaudits and clinical research.
- Supervise and guide junior residents and other clinical trainees.
