Senior Resident

Job Purpose:

To perform procedures independently as per privileges bestowed upon him or her as per hospital policy.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Clinical responsibility:
2. Performs triage on incoming patients to become part of the ER s current load
3. Oversees patient caretreatmentand recovery
4. Participates in research efforts and clinical studies
5. Maintains clinical records in line with regulations and standards
6. Clears patients for discharge or further procedures with specialists
7. Conducts follow-up to monitor patient s condition

Research :

1. Conduct medical research to aid in controlling and curing diseaseto investigate new medicationsand to develop and test new medical techniques.
2. Be thesis guide for fellowsresidents and PhD candidates.

Administrative:

1. Coordinate and direct work of nursesmedical technicians and other health care providers.
2. Inform students and staff of types and methods of critical care administrationsigns of complicationsand emergency methods to counteract reactions.
3. Manage Critical Care servicescoordinating them with other medical activities and formulating plans and procedures.

Teaching:

1. Must take part in the ongoing teaching activities.
2. Organize and attend workshopsseminarsconferencesCMEs at localregional and national level.
