Job Responsibilities:
- Diagnose internal injuries and diseasesand prescribe medication or surgery;
- Order and analyze tests like X-raysCT scansand MRIs;
- Decide whether surgery is warrantedbased on the patient s recordstestsand examinations;
- Perform examinations to confirm that patients are strong enough to undergo surgeryexplain the proceduresand discuss the risks involved;
- Order antibioticsspecial dietssedativesand other prescriptions for pre- and post-operative treatment;
- Schedule operationscoordinate the staffplan the proceduresand order instruments and other supplies;
- Perform operationsin accordance with accepted methods;
- Create and update patient records;
- Consult with and assist other doctors;
- Refer patients to specialists and other professionals;
- Take part in research studies involving surgical techniques.
