Senior Resident Orthopedics

Assess, diagnose, and manage orthopedic patients in outpatient clinics, wards, and emergency settings

• Admit, monitor, and discharge patients with appropriate documentation
• Perform daily ward rounds and ensure continuity of patient care
• Order, interpret, and act upon laboratory tests and imaging studies
• Provide preoperative and postoperative care, including complication management

Surgical & Procedural Responsibilities

• Assist or perform orthopedic surgical procedures under supervision, including:
• Fracture fixation (ORIF, external fixation)
• Arthroscopic procedures
• Soft tissue and minor orthopedic surgeries
• Perform orthopedic procedures such as:
• Closed fracture reduction
• Casting, splinting, and traction
• Joint aspirations and injections
• Wound debridement and suturing
• Ensure adherence to surgical safety protocols and infection control guidelines
• Participate in emergency and trauma services as per duty roster
• Provide prompt assessment and stabilization of orthopedic emergencies
• Coordinate care with anesthesia, radiology, and other specialties
• Teach and supervise junior residents, interns, and medical students
• Participate in academic activities such as:
• Journal clubs
• Case presentations
• Mortality and morbidity meetings
• Assist in conducting seminars, workshops, and clinical demonstrations
