Designation: Senior Registrar - Cardiac Anaesthesia

- Conduct pre-anaesthetic assessment and optimization of patients undergoing cardiac and cardiothoracic surgery.
- Provide anaesthesia for:
- CABG and valve replacement/repair procedures
- Aortic and other major cardiothoracic surgeries
- Congenital cardiac proceduresas applicable
- Emergency and high-risk cardiac procedures

- Manage intraoperative haemodynamics using advanced monitoring techniquesincluding arterial and central venous monitoring andwhere indicatedpulmonary artery catheterization and TEE.
- Assist with management of cardiopulmonary bypassincluding initiationmaintece and separation from bypassin coordination with the cardiac surgical and perfusion teams.
- Manage difficult airwaymajor bleedingcoagulation abnormalitiesarrhythmias and perioperative cardiovascular instability.
- Provide postoperative care in the cardiac surgical ICUincluding mechanical ventilationvasoactive/inotropic support and haemodynamic optimization.
- Participate in emergency cardiac and resuscitation servicesincluding ACLS/CPR.
- Assist with perioperative TEE and other advanced cardiac monitoringaccording to training and competency.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentatioaesthesia records and handover.
- Participate in teaching and supervision of junior residents/registrars and other trainees.
- Participate in departmental auditsquality-improvement initiativesmorbidity and mortality meetingsand clinical research where applicable.
- Follow hospital policiesinfection-control practicespatient-safety standards and professional/ethical guidelines.
- Participate in on-callnight and weekend duties as per departmental roster.
