This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Recruiter, Water & Transportation - A/E/C Industry required based in the United States.
This is a high-impact recruiting opportunity focused on attracting specialized engineering and technical talent across the water, wastewater, transportation, and environmental services sectors. You’ll own the full recruitment lifecycle, partnering closely with hiring leaders to understand workforce needs and build targeted talent strategies. The role combines proactive sourcing, industry networking, candidate assessment, offer management, and stakeholder partnership across a nationwide hiring landscape. Your expertise and established A/E/C network will directly support organizational growth and the delivery of projects that shape communities and infrastructure. You’ll work within a collaborative, fast-moving environment where autonomy, initiative, and strong execution are highly valued. The position offers meaningful visibility with hiring leaders and opportunities to influence recruiting strategy, candidate experience, and business outcomes. Accountabilities: Own the full recruitment lifecycle, from intake meetings and role definition through sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer negotiation, and successful placement.
Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing requirements, advise on compensation and market conditions, and contribute to effective job descriptions.
Proactively source and engage high-quality engineering and professional talent across the water, wastewater, drinking water, stormwater, transportation, roadway, traffic, and land development sectors.
Leverage industry networks, professional relationships, direct outreach, and recruiting tools to build qualified talent pipelines nationwide.
Review resumes and conduct initial phone interviews, providing clear and detailed candidate assessments and written summaries to hiring managers.
Coordinate interviews and maintain consistent communication with candidates, hiring managers, and other stakeholders throughout the recruitment process.
Prepare and extend offers, negotiate terms when appropriate, and help drive successful candidate conversions.
Maintain accurate candidate records, activity, and recruiting progress within the ATS and related systems.
Ensure recruiting activities comply with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
Deliver a professional and engaging candidate experience through proactive communication, timely follow-up, and effective feedback management.
Collaborate closely with the broader Talent Acquisition team to achieve hiring objectives and continuously improve recruiting practices.
Requirements
8+ years of recruiting experience focused on A/E/C technical talent is required , including recent experience recruiting Transportation or Water/Wastewater, Drinking Water, or Stormwater Engineers.
Demonstrated experience recruiting engineering professionals in areas such as Water/Wastewater, Transportation, Roadway, Traffic, or Land Development Civil Engineering.
Experience recruiting across multiple levels of technical and professional roles, with candidates who have experience in both Transportation and Water strongly preferred.
Applicants without recent experience recruiting Transportation or Water/Wastewater, Drinking Water, or Stormwater Engineers will not be considered.
Proven expertise in candidate sourcing, networking, direct outreach, and talent pipeline development.
An established professional network within the A/E/C industry and access to qualified engineering talent.
Strong interviewing and candidate evaluation skills, combined with excellent written and verbal communication.
Comfortable using applicant tracking systems, recruiting software, and other computer-based tools.
Self-starter mentality with the ability to take ownership, work independently, and consistently deliver results.
Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, evolving environment with changing hiring priorities.
Strong work ethic, positive attitude, high professional standards, and a persistent, solutions-oriented approach to challenges.
