Position Overview

We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Engineer – Quality / AM – Quality to lead and strengthen our quality systems in the sheet metal manufacturing domain. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring product quality, process compliance, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in sheet metal processes, quality tools, inspection systems, customer handling, and team management.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management & Process Control

• Ensure implementation and adherence to Quality Management Systems (QMS) across manufacturing processes.
• Monitor incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities for sheet metal components.
• Develop and maintain quality standards, SOPs, control plans, PFMEA, and inspection checklists.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for quality issues.

Customer Quality Management

• Handle customer complaints effectively using 8D, CAPA, and problem-solving methodologies.
• Coordinate with customers for audits, quality approvals, and corrective action closures.
• Ensure customer quality targets and expectations are achieved consistently.

Inspection & Measurement

• Lead inspection activities using instruments such as:
• Vernier Caliper
• Micrometer
• Height Gauge
• Profile Projector
• CMM (preferred)
• Ensure calibration and maintenance of measuring instruments.

Process Improvement

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rejection, rework, and customer complaints.
• Analyze quality data and implement preventive actions for process stabilization.
• Support Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and Six Sigma initiatives.

Audit & Compliance

• Participate in internal, supplier, and customer audits.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 standards (preferred).
• Maintain quality documentation and records as per audit requirements.

Team Coordination

• Lead and guide quality inspectors and engineers on shop floor quality activities.
• Coordinate closely with Production, Tool Room, PPC, and Maintenance teams.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education

• B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Experience

• Senior Engineer – Quality: 6–8 years
• AM – Quality: 8–12 years
• Relevant experience in Sheet Metal Manufacturing / Fabrication Industry is mandatory.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of:
• Sheet metal manufacturing processes
• Welding,fabrication, laser cutting, bending, punching
• GD&T and engineering drawings
• Quality tools (7 QC Tools, SPC, MSA, PPAP, APQP, FMEA)
• Root Cause Analysis techniques

Preferred Skills

• Good communication and customer handling skills.
• Leadership and team management capability.

• Proficiency in MS Excel and quality reporting systems.
