Senior Python Automation Engineer

About Position:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Automation Engineer to drive automation excellence across enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Python programming, Playwright automation, API testing, and automation framework development. This role will be responsible for building scalable automation solutions, improving software quality, accelerating release cycles through CI/CD integration, and leading quality engineering initiatives across multiple projects.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise test automation frameworks using Python and Playwright.
• Build and execute automated UI, API, functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end test suites.
• Develop reusable Python libraries, utilities, fixtures, and automation components to support testing initiatives.
• Implement advanced Playwright capabilities, including browser contexts, fixtures, parallel execution, tracing, screenshots, and automated reporting.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality assurance.
• Develop and maintain REST API automation solutions using Python-based frameworks and libraries.
• Design automation frameworks using industry-standard design patterns and coding best practices.
• Perform root-cause analysis, debugging, defect reporting, and troubleshooting of test failures.
• Improve test reliability, execution speed, maintainability, and coverage through continuous optimization.
• Collaborate closely with developers, QA teams, DevOps engineers, business analysts, and product teams.
• Conduct code reviews and establish automation engineering standards and best practices.
• Enable automated testing across development, QA, staging, and production-like environments.
• Create test reports, quality dashboards, and automation metrics to track overall quality health.
• Mentor junior automation engineers and provide guidance on Python development and automation strategies.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in testing processes and automation toolsets.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 5 to 8 years of experience in software development, quality engineering, test automation, or SDET roles.
• Advanced programming expertise in Python with strong object-oriented programming concepts.
• Hands-on experience developing automation solutions using Playwright.
• Proven experience designing and implementing automation frameworks from scratch.
• Strong expertise in web application testing and UI automation.
• Experience with REST API testing, automation, and service validation.
• Hands-on experience with PyTest or similar Python-based testing frameworks.
• Strong understanding of test architecture, framework design, and automation best practices.
• Experience integrating automation suites with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• Working knowledge of SQL and database validation techniques.
• Strong understanding of version control systems, especially Git.
• Experience working in Agile and Scrum-based software development environments.
• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to lead automation initiatives and influence quality engineering practices across teams.
