Senior Programmer Analyst

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Programmer Analyst with strong expertise in database development, data analysis, and solution design. The ideal candidate will be responsible for understanding business requirements, developing technical specifications, designing database solutions, optimizing queries, and supporting mission-critical healthcare applications. This role will primarily focus on Oracle and SQL Server databases, data integration, and application support within a regulated healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business and system requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain database objects including tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers.
• Develop and maintain logical and physical data models.
• Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Create technical design documentation, architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, and related documentation.
• Support system integrations using APIs, Web Services, XML, and data exchange mechanisms.
• Investigate and resolve production support issues, including root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA teams, Release Management, Operations, and Infrastructure teams throughout the SDLC.
• Participate in application support activities, including occasional after-hours support when required.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 6 years of experience in database design, development, and support.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Oracle Database
• SQL Server 2016 or higher
• Writing complex SQL queries
• Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Packages
• Performance Tuning and Query Optimization
• Data Modeling and Database Design
• Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, DB2, and Access.
• Strong understanding of data architecture and database best practices.
• Experience creating technical documentation and design artifacts using Visio and Microsoft Office tools.
• Knowledge of XML, Web Services, and data integration methodologies.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
