About the role

We are looking for an experienced BMS Product & Solutioning Leader to lead Tor.ai’s BMS, HVAC and Smart Building solutions. The role will own customer problem understanding, customized solution architecture and product solutioning, while leading Product Managers, Application Engineers and Solutioning Engineers.

The individual will work closely with customers, Sales and Engineering teams to define the right solution, required product configurations and enhancements, and with Implementation and Support teams to ensure the solution is deployed correctly and delivers the intended outcome.

This is primarily a solution ownership and product leadership role, not a site implementation or project execution role.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Tor.ai’s BMS, HVAC and Smart Building Product & Solutioning function, owning solution direction, technical quality and evolution of the offering.
• Engage with customers, consultants and senior stakeholders to understand operational challenges, system requirements, constraints and desired outcomes.
• Lead the design of customized BMS/HVAC solutions covering system architecture, control approach, integrations, communication topology, instrumentation and product configuration.
• Lead and mentor Product Managers, Application Engineers and Solutioning Engineers, ensuring strong technical quality, structured solutioning and customer-centric execution.
• Review and approve solution designs, BOQs, technical proposals and feasibility for complex customer requirements and strategic opportunities.
• Translate customer and market needs into product features, configurations, integrations, enhancements and engineering requirements, and work closely with Software, Firmware and Hardware teams on prioritization and development.
• Work with Implementation and Support teams through deployment, commissioning and post-deployment validation to ensure the solution is implemented as designed and delivers the expected functional and performance outcomes.
• Provide solution-level technical leadership during complex deployments and escalations, without owning day-to-day site execution.
• Support strategic presales, consultant engagement and major customer discussions through solution presentations, technical evaluations and proposal reviews.
• Convert successful customized solutions into scalable and repeatable BMS, HVAC, energy and utility-monitoring offerings

Required Experience & Skills

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Electronics or related engineering discipline; MBA preferred but not mandatory.
• 8–15 years of relevant experience in BMS, HVAC Automation, Building Automation, Smart Buildings or Energy Management, with significant experience in solution design/application engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience in BMS/HVAC solution design, application engineering or solution architecture, including independently developing customized solutions for complex customer requirements.
• Experience leading Application Engineering, Design, Product or Solutioning teams and working with senior customer stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of chillers, chiller plants, cooling towers, pumps, AHUs, FCUs, HVAC controls, instrumentation, valves, actuators, energy metering and utility monitoring.
• Working knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, MQTT, OPC and BMS/Industrial IoT integration; LonWorks exposure is preferred.
• Ability to interpret HVAC/BMS schematics, P&IDs, control drawings, electrical drawings and BOQs.
• Experience in customer solutioning, technical proposals, BOQ development, presales, product requirements and implementation/commissioning oversight.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem solving, stakeholder management, executive communication, customer orientation and team leadership.

Executes, installs, commissions and hands over a solution that has already been defined.

Embedded / Controls Development:
Develops or programs the underlying product, controller or device functionality.

This Role – Solution Ownership & Product Leadership:
Defines what the complete BMS solution should be, how it should work, and what needs to be configured, integrated or developed to meet the customer requirement, while guiding the teams responsible for delivering it.

Ideal Profile

A senior professional with a strong foundation in BMS Application Engineering, Design or Solutioning, who can now independently architect complex solutions, lead technical teams and engage confidently with senior customer stakeholders.

Additional Information

The role involves travel for customer meetings, site assessments, consultant discussions and key project reviews. It will lead the BMS Product Management and Solutioning function and contribute to scaling Tor.ai’s Smart Buildings, BMS and Energy Management portfolio.
