Senior/ Principal Associate Counsel- Corporate & Labour Laws

Job Summary

GJC is a rapidly growing consulting firm that exclusively supports Japanese corporations in establishing, operating, and expanding their businesses in India. We are looking for an experienced Corporate & Labour Laws Counsel with strong expertise in Indian labour laws, corporate advisory, and regulatory compliance to work closely with Japanese corporate clients and provide strategic legal guidance in a cross-border business environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted legal advisor to Japanese corporate clients on Indian labour laws, corporate compliance, and employment-related matters.
• Provide legal guidance on labour law compliance, employment regulations, statutory obligations, and corporate governance.
• Lead client discussions and present legal advice in a clear, practical, and business-oriented manner.
• Support foreign leadership in understanding and navigating Indian legal and compliance frameworks.
• Draft, review, and advise on employment contracts, HR policies, compliance documentation, and legal opinions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, corporate laws, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients on cross-border legal and compliance matters.
• Build long-term relationships with international clients through professional communication and cultural sensitivity.

Desired Candidate Profile

• LL.B. / LL.M. from a recognized university.
• Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in Corporate Law with strong specialization in Indian Labour Laws.
• Experience advising corporate clients on labour law compliance and employment regulations.
• Excellent legal drafting, advisory, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with international clients.
• Exposure to multinational or Japanese corporate clients will be an added advantage.
• Candidates seeking a long-term career opportunity in a client-facing consulting role are preferred.
