Position Description
Responsible for ensuring reliable operation, preventive maintenance, breakdown management, and continuous improvement of plant utility systems and production support equipment. The role involves maintaining utility equipment, reducing downtime, ensuring statutory compliance, optimizing maintenance costs, managing spare parts, and supporting plant operations to achieve production targets safely and efficiently.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure uninterrupted operation of plant utility systems including Air Compressors, DG Sets, Electrical Panels, HVAC Systems, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Water Treatment Systems, Pumps, and Fire Fighting Systems.
- Monitor daily breakdowns, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Plan and execute Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules as per the maintenance calendar.
- Monitor and improve Maintenance KPIs such as MTTR, MTBF, Utility Availability, Breakdown Hours, PM Compliance, and Maintenance Cost.
- Manage utility consumption including electricity, water, diesel, compressed air, and other resources for cost optimization.
- Coordinate with utility equipment suppliers and service providers for troubleshooting and annual maintenance contracts.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, environmental, and company regulations.
- Maintain maintenance records, reports, checklists, and audit documentation.
- Support production teams by ensuring timely restoration of utility services during equipment failures.
- Utilize SAP-PM/CMMS for maintenance planning, work order execution, and record management.
Additional Responsibilities
- Lead Kaizen and Continuous Improvement initiatives for utility reliability and energy conservation.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities related to utility consumption and maintenance.
- Supervise contractors and maintenance technicians during repair and project activities.
- Conduct utility equipment health assessments and recommend improvement projects.
- Support new utility installations, commissioning, and expansion activities.
- Train maintenance technicians and operators on utility equipment operation and safety requirements.
- Participate in customer audits, ISO audits, and safety audits.
