REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES:

- Bachelors degree, trade school certificate in network engineering or equivalent experience

- 10 + years of IT industry experience managing all aspects of enterprise networks.

- Hands-on experience with Cisco equipment configuration, administration and troubleshooting in a large-scale, multi-site environment.

- Solid understanding of network monitoring tools, network analysis, network troubleshooting, and proactive management.

- Advanced knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, VPN, F5 LTM load balancers

- Advanced knowledge of dynamic routing EIGRP and BGP, LAN and WAN QoS management.

- Advanced knowledge of layer2 switching including spanning tree, etherchannel, VPC.

- Advanced knowledge of storage and server networking protocols including SNMP, syslog, IP SLA, and packet capturing tools.

- Experience working with network security solutions such as web content filters, IDS/IPS, and NAC solutions.

- Understanding of technical support practices such as ticket documentation, SLAs, and escalation processes.

- Knowledge of public cloud networking (Azure) is plus.

- Knowledge of VMware NSX is plus.

- Quick learner, self-starter, the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Able to work within time constraints and follow set processes and procedures.

- Customer focused and able to work on multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

- Advanced level analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

RESPOSIBILITIES:

- Responsible for supporting day-to-day operations of network within the scope of the Network Operations Team

- Provide Level 2 & 3 support for Network environments and solutions

- Support and maintain local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) systems.

- Support and maintain network appliances for web filtering, IDS/IPS, NAC, etc.

- Support and maintain wireless and remote connectivity solutions.

- Analyze network activity and performance, using network logs to troubleshoot and track the nature and resolution of problems.

- Assist in the patching of network devices and other supported systems as required.

- Assist in the decommissioning of network devices and configuration cleanup as needed.

- Participation in annual DR testing exercises as required.

- Maintain and create documentation as required.

- Diagnose problems and escalate technical support where appropriate. Own the problem and the resolution promoting end-user satisfaction.

- Provide timely responses and status updates to end-user and management requests.

- Follow set policies and procedures when working incidents/requests and ensure proper hand-offs when required

- Maintain a professional attitude and provide excellent customer service at all times.

- Maintain a good work ethic and assisting other engineers and senior staff when needed.

- Coordinate work with multi-cultural and multiple time zone teams.
