Senior Merchandising Manager

Jewellery Merchandiser at PMJ Jewels will play a critical role in managing the brand's jewellery collections, ensuring products are displayed effectively, maintaining stock levels, and contributing to the development of product strategies. The individual will be responsible for understanding market trends, assisting with the design of new collections, and ensuring that inventory aligns with the brand's image and customer preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Selection & Inventory Management:

• Analyze sales trends, customer preferences, and market data to select and maintain the ideal stock mix of diamond and gold jewellery.
• Ensure that products meet both quality standards and brand aesthetics.
• Collaborate with the design team to suggest improvements or new products based on market demand.

Stock Coordination:

• Monitor inventory levels to ensure there is no overstocking or understocking, adjusting stock orders accordingly.
• Collaborate with the inventory team to manage product transfers, replenishment, and order quantities.

Market Trend Analysis:

• Stay up-to-date with the latest jewellery trends, especially in the diamond and gold segments.
• Identify new trends in both local and global markets that could influence product offerings and sales strategies.

Sales Support:

• Assist the sales team by providing them with in-depth product knowledge, helping them understand key selling points of diamonds and gold jewellery.
• Help create promotional materials and offers to boost sales.

Supplier Relationship Management:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring the timely delivery of quality jewellery products.
• Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to ensure competitive and profitable purchasing.

Pricing Strategy:

• Work with the pricing team to ensure competitive pricing of diamond and gold jewellery based on market research, production costs, and brand positioning.
• Help develop pricing models for promotions, seasonal offers, and exclusive collections.

Customer Interaction:

• Understand customer feedback and collaborate with the sales team to ensure that products meet customer expectations.
• Offer recommendations for customer preferences, including customisation or bespoke jewellery requests.

Collaboration with Marketing & Advertising:

• Support the marketing team by providing input on new jewellery collections, helping to develop advertising campaigns, and creating social media content.
• Participate in photoshoots, promotions, and events that showcase the brands products.

Desired Profile:

• Education: Any Graduate
• Experience: 3-7 years in a merchandising role, preferably in the jewellery industry (experience with diamonds and gold jewellery is highly preferred).
• Strong understanding of diamond grading, gold types, and jewellery design.
• Knowledge of the latest trends in jewellery, specifically diamonds and gold.

Skills:

• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and merchandising software.
• Analytical skills to interpret sales data, market trends, and customer behavior.
• Creative eye for visual merchandising and display.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
