Senior Medical Coder

Role & responsibilities .

• Review and analyze patient medical records, physician documentation, operative notes, and diagnostic reports to determine accurate diagnosis and procedure coding.
• Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II, and applicable modifiers based on current coding guidelines.
• Ensure coding accuracy, completeness, compliance, and appropriate sequencing in accordance with CMS, AMA, payer, and client-specific guidelines.
• Perform coding audits and quality checks to maintain defined accuracy and productivity standards.
• Review coding-related denials, identify root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Preferred candidate profile

Experience in one or more specialties such as PCP related coding, ED/E&M, Surgery, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Orthopedics, Oncology, or HCC/Risk Adjustment
