Senior Mechanical Engineer

Position: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Work Location: Shamshabad, Hyderabad

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with strong hands-on experience in mechanical design, machine setup, manufacturing processes, and engineering drawing interpretation. The ideal candidate should have exposure to mechanical layouts, tolerance and stack-up analysis, jigs and fixtures, and various fabrication and machining processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and review mechanical layouts and designs based on product and system requirements.
• Read, interpret, and review mechanical engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications.
• Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and identify potential design and manufacturing issues.
• Design and develop jigs, fixtures, tooling, and machine components.
• Support machine setup, installation, alignment, and commissioning activities.
• Work closely with manufacturing and production teams to improve machine and component manufacturability.
• Review designs for manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, and cost effectiveness.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for fabrication, machining, casting, welding, and other manufacturing requirements.
• Provide technical support for issues related to machining, welding, brazing, casting, and fabrication.
• Prepare and review engineering documentation, drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.
• Identify design-related quality issues and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable QMS procedures and documentation requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and production.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Relevant experience in mechanical design and machine engineering.
• Good exposure to mechanical layout and component design.
• Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of tolerance stack-up analysis and dimensional control.
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and Pro/E (Creo).
• Practical experience with jigs, fixtures, and tooling.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, including:
• Casting
• Welding
• Brazing
• Machining
• Fabrication and assembly
• Knowledge of machine setup, alignment, and commissioning.
• Exposure to Quality Management Systems (QMS) and engineering quality processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and manufacturing-related issues.
• Strong coordination and communication skills with internal teams and external vendors.

Preferred Competencies

• Strong understanding of DFM/DFA principles.
• Knowledge of GD&T and engineering standards.
• Ability to analyze manufacturing problems and propose practical engineering solutions.
• Experience working in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Good documentation, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
