About this role
- Lead end-to-end API production operations across multiple manufacturing blocks.
- Manage day-to-day production activities to achieve production targets, yield and delivery schedules .
- Ensure strict compliance with cGMP, EHS, SOPs and regulatory requirements .
- Handle manufacturing of multiple API products and processes .
- Monitor and optimize batch cycle time, productivity, yield and process efficiency .
- Review and ensure proper execution of BMR/BPR and manufacturing documentation .
- Coordinate with QA, QC, Engineering, Technical Services, R&D and other cross-functional teams .
- Drive process improvement, cost reduction and capacity enhancement initiatives.
- Lead troubleshooting of process-related issues, deviations and manufacturing challenges .
- Ensure effective implementation and closure of Deviations, CAPA, Change Controls and investigation activities .
- Support process validation, technology transfer, scale-up and process improvement activities.
- Ensure plant readiness for customer, internal and regulatory audits , including USFDA and other regulatory inspections.
- Monitor manpower deployment, productivity and competency development of the production team.
- Develop and mentor Production Managers, Block Heads and other team members .
- Ensure proper implementation of safety procedures, permit systems and process safety requirements .
- Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across production operations.
- Prepare and review production MIS, performance reports and management dashboards .
- Manage production activities while ensuring quality, safety, cost and timely delivery .
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in API manufacturing and production operations .
- Good knowledge of chemical processes, batch manufacturing and process troubleshooting .
- Strong understanding of cGMP and regulatory requirements .
- Experience in handling multiple production blocks/products .
- Good exposure to yield improvement, cycle-time reduction and productivity enhancement .
- Strong experience in team management and leadership .
- Good knowledge of process safety and EHS requirements .
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
