Senior Manager US Accounting and Finance

Role & responsibilities

Bookkeeping Operations:

• Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with established accounting principles and company policies.
• Develop and implement efficient processes and controls to streamline bookkeeping operations and minimize errors.

US Accounting Operation:

• Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and comprehensive variance analysis to internal and external stakeholders.
• End to end Accounting Operation: Account Payable / Receivable, Bank Reconciliation, Audit.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, policies, and regulations (e.g., GAAP) and stay updated on industry developments and best practices.
• Publish weekly and ad hoc analysis on information request from senior management.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Develop and manage budget, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic decision-making including monthly variance analysis (actuals vs Budget, vs forecast vs Prior year) with clear explanations.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of financial goals and strategies.

Tax & Planning Compliance

• Collaborate with tax advisors to develop tax-efficient strategies and ensure compliance with US tax laws.
• Review and approve tax filings, including federal, state, and local tax returns.
• Identify opportunities for tax optimization and risk mitigation.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant US accounting standards, regulations, and reporting requirements, including but not limited to SEC regulations.
• Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy and integrity.

Billing & Expense Management

• Ensure compliance with procurement and expense management processes and procedures.
• Review/approve relevant invoices in line with existing Delegation of Authority Matrix
• Maintain accurate and timely records of all transactions, invoices, and related documentation.
• Review invoicing with related parties and ensure this is in accordance with agreed processes and allocation methodologies.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 20+ years experience in US Accounting and finance operation roles, preferably in a high growth technology or data insights business with a minimum of 7 years in a managerial position leading team.
• MUST Have US Accounting & Bookkeeping Operation experience.
• Thorough understanding of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and other relevant accounting and regulatory standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively.
• Proven track record of strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Experience managing treasury operations, cash flow, and risk management strategies.
• In-depth knowledge of US tax laws and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, XERO etc) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve results.
• High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
• Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
