About this role
Senior Manager, Treasury & Debt Fundraise
BondScanner | Sustvest Broking Pvt. Ltd.
Location: Bangalore (in-office)
Reports to: Co-Founder & CEO
Experience: 4 - 8 years; CA or MBA (Finance)
Scope: End-to-end debt fundraise, lender relationships, and treasury / liquidity management for the BondScanner entity
About BondScanner:
BondScanner is India's retail-native bond platform, operated by Sustvest Broking Pvt. Ltd., a SEBI-registered Online Bond Platform Provider (OBPP). We give retail Indian investors zero-brokerage access to listed corporate bonds and government securities. Built on rails proven by our predecessor platform Tap Invest, which served HNI investors at meaningful scale, BondScanner is the retail expansion of that thesis, and one of the fastest-growing platforms in India's bond market. We are backed by leading fintech founders and institutional investors, and we are scaling fast.
Why this role matters:
As a SEBI-registered stockbroker, BondScanner needs reliable, low-cost capital to fund settlement obligations, margin and collateral requirements, and growth, while keeping net worth and regulatory capital comfortably above SEBI minimums. Debt is a core lever for that. You will own debt fundraise execution end to end, working with the CEO on what to raise, from whom, and on what terms, then closing it and managing it afterwards. This is a build-and-own role reporting directly to the CEO, with a clear path to Head of Treasury / Capital Markets as the business grows.
What you'll own:
1. Debt fundraise, end to end:
- Plan and execute the debt funding roadmap with the CEO, in line with business growth, regulatory capital needs, and cost-of-capital targets.
- Source, structure, and close debt across instruments such as working capital lines, term loans, WCDL / overdraft facilities, venture debt, NCDs, and other structured or market-linked borrowing suited to a stockbroker.
- Run the full lender process: lender mapping, outreach, teaser and information memorandum, management presentations, term sheet negotiation, due diligence, documentation, conditions precedent, and drawdown.
- Negotiate pricing, tenor, security, covenants, and fees, and work with legal counsel on facility agreements, security documents, and trustee arrangements.
- Coordinate credit ratings where needed: rating agency engagement, rating presentations, surveillance, and responses.
- Manage arrangers, merchant bankers, debenture trustees, and legal advisors.
2. Lender and investor relationships:
- Build and own relationships with banks, NBFCs, AIFs, family offices, debt funds, and other institutional lenders.
- Prepare and deliver periodic lender reporting: MIS packs, utilization and compliance certificates, covenant tracking, and information-sharing under facility terms.
- Handle lender queries, site visits, and annual reviews or renewals, and keep the firm's credit story consistent and credible.
3. Post-disbursal management and covenant compliance:
- Track all covenants, repayment schedules, security creation and perfection, charge filings (including MCA), and end-use requirements.
- Maintain a debt register covering facilities, limits, utilisation, pricing, maturities, and refinancing windows.
- Plan refinancing and renewals well ahead of maturity, and avoid concentration risk across lenders and tenors.
4. Liquidity and treasury management:
- Ensure funds are available to meet settlement obligations, margin, and bank guarantee or collateral requirements on time, every cycle.
- Model capital and liquidity needs as transaction volumes scale, and size debt raises against them. Keep net worth and regulatory capital comfortably above SEBI minimums.
- Own day-to-day cash management, bank relationships, and the firm's own treasury, kept distinct from client funds.
- Manage interest rate and cost-of-funds exposure, and set sensible liquidity buffers and contingency lines.
- Build the liquidity, debt, and capital dashboards the founders need to monitor the entity's financial health in real time.
5. Fundraise support, governance, and team:
- Partner with the CEO and the FP&A and Controllership functions on projections, financial models, and lender-ready data packs.
- Support equity fundraise diligence where debt and capital structure are involved, and keep a clean, audit-ready debt data room at all times.
- Present funding plans, capital adequacy, and liquidity position to the board and investors.
- Coordinate with auditors, SEBI / exchange requirements, and legal and compliance teams on anything touching borrowings and capital.
- As the business scales, help build out the treasury function, including hiring and leading a small team, and select treasury and cash management tools.
Who you are:
- CA or MBA (Finance) from a reputed institute; CFA a plus.
- 4 - 5 years of experience in treasury, debt syndication, capital markets, or structured finance, with meaningful time in a regulated financial services entity such as an NBFC, bank, stockbroker, asset manager, or large fintech.
- Hands-on experience executing or closely supporting debt raises, with specific deals you can speak to in detail (sizes, structures, lenders, pricing).
- Strong working knowledge of facility documentation, security structures, covenants, and lender due diligence.
- Strong financial modelling skills, including liquidity, capital adequacy, and cost-of-funds analysis.
- Working relationships with Indian banks, NBFCs, or debt funds, or the credibility to build them quickly.
- Ability to build process, and to lead a small team as the function grows.
Strongly preferred:
- Direct experience in a SEBI-registered stockbroker or OBPP, with familiarity with net worth, margin, and settlement funding requirements for brokers.
- Experience with NCD issuances, credit ratings, and debenture trustee processes.
- Familiarity with bond and fixed-income market mechanics, including settlement, CCIL, and NSDL / CDSL flows.
- Exposure to equity fundraise on the finance side: diligence, data room, investor MIS.
- Experience with RBI / SEBI regulatory frameworks affecting borrowings and capital.
How you operate:
- You treat liquidity as a hard constraint. Settlement obligations are met on time, every cycle, with buffers to spare.
- You think about cost of capital, tenor, and refinancing risk together, not one deal at a time.
- You are as comfortable in a lender's credit committee as in a founder offsite, and you can switch registers without changing the truth.
- You take ownership without being asked. If something is broken in funding or treasury, it is yours to fix.
- You think in systems, not tickets: you would rather fix the root cause once than patch the symptom every month.
What we offer:
- Competitive compensation benchmarked to senior fintech roles in Bangalore, with meaningful ESOPs.
- A direct line to the CEO and a seat at the table as we scale and raise.
- The chance to build the debt and treasury function from the ground up at one of India's fastest-growing bond platforms.
- A clear path to Head of Treasury / Capital Markets as the business grows.
