Senior Manager - India Entity Controller - CA

About the Role:

We are hiring for one of our prestigious clients, a leading global investment manager specializing in alternative investments. The Senior Manager India Entity Controller will be responsible for the end-to-end controllership of the firm's India legal entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, strong governance, and effective stakeholder management.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring expertise in legal entity controllership, corporate accounting, financial reporting, taxation, audits, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Own the end-to-end controllership and financial close for India legal entities.

- Manage core accounting, books and records, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, provisions, fixed assets, intercompany accounting, and payroll accounting.

- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with Indian GAAP and applicable statutory requirements.

- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.

- Oversee statutory reporting and ensure compliance with the Companies Act and other applicable regulations.

- Manage direct tax, GST, TDS, transfer pricing, advance tax, tax audits, statutory filings, and regulatory compliance, including STPI/IFSC requirements where applicable.

- Coordinate statutory audits, tax audits, internal audits, and work closely with external auditors, tax advisors, and compliance partners.

- Strengthen internal financial controls, governance frameworks, and process documentation while supporting SOX readiness.

- Partner with global finance, tax, legal, HR, and accounting teams to ensure timely delivery of financial and compliance obligations.

- Identify and drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen the controllership function.

Required Qualifications:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).

- 7+ years of post-qualification experience in Corporate Accounting or Legal Entity Controllership (LEC).

- Strong knowledge of Indian GAAP, statutory reporting, Companies Act requirements, and financial statement preparation.

- Hands-on experience in month-end and year-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, and statutory accounting.

- Strong understanding of direct tax, GST, TDS, transfer pricing, and regulatory compliance.

- Experience managing statutory audits, tax audits, and working with external auditors and consultants.

- Excellent analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
