Senior Manager - Employment Law

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Manager Employment Law to join our Legal Services team. In this high-impact role, you will act as a trusted strategic advisor, leading critical employment law initiatives and navigating complex labor and employment disputes. You will collaborate with senior business leaders and external counsel to drive innovative legal solutions, manage high-stakes litigation, and shape the organizations employment law strategy in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Dispute & Litigation Management:

- Oversee employment-related agency charges, court proceedings, arbitrations, and pre-litigation mattersincluding drafting and reviewing pleadings, position statements, discovery responses, and settlement strategies.

2. Strategic Case Oversight:

- Manage the active dispute docket, tracking matter progression, timelines, risk assessments, status reporting, and escalating significant developments to senior leadership.

3. Pre-Litigation Support:

- Assess factual backgrounds, legal issues, and potential exposure in pre-litigation outreach, recommending optimal resolution strategies.

4. Cross-Functional Coordination:

- Partner with internal HR, compliance, business stakeholders, and outside counsel to gather documentation, prepare witnesses, align messaging, and ensure timely execution of all dispute-related workstreams.

5. Legal Research & Analysis:

- Conduct in-depth factual and legal research, review employment policies and records, and analyze documentation to support litigation strategy, agency responses, settlement discussions, and internal decision-making.

6. Process & Matter Excellence:

- Drive disciplined matter management practicesmaintaining tracking tools, organizing case materials, monitoring deadlines, and identifying process improvements to enhance efficiency across the employment disputes portfolio.

What You Bring:

- Bachelors Degree (required); LLB/JD/LLM strongly preferred.

- 12-18 years of progressive experience in employment/labour law, with significant exposure to dispute resolution and litigation management.

- Proven ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.

- Experience collaborating with external counsel and senior organizational stakeholders to deliver practical legal solutions.

- Strong understanding of legal and regulatory developments impacting the workplace.

- Excellent oral and written proficiency in English.

- Familiarity with legal productivity and matter-management technology tools.

- Demonstrated ability to build relationships, establish scalable processes, and address recurring legal issues proactively.
