Senior Manager/DGM- External Communications Mumbai

Role & responsibilities

• Reputation & Strategy: Partner with senior management to design media calendars and communication strategies that build positive brand perception.
• Media Relations: Proactively build and leverage a strong national network of journalists across print, digital, TV, and regional media platforms.
• Agency Management: Drive PR agency deliverables, including press releases, media pitches, coverage analysis, and high-profile press conferences.
• Product Experiences & Events: Plan and execute major product launches, media test drives, plant tours (FAM trips), and exhibition branding.
• Content & Crisis Management: Personally draft press kits, FAQs, and executive talking points; efficiently manage inbound media queries and industry issues.
• Monitoring & Analytics: Track industry trends, analyze media coverage monthly, and suggest actionable strategies to capitalize on trends or correct biases.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience: 9-13 years in Corporate Communications or PR (Automotive or manufacturing sector experience is highly preferred).
• Skills: Exceptional copywriting, media networking, crisis management, and event execution capabilities.
• Mindset: A proactive storyteller who can confidently counsel senior executives and drive agency accountability.
