Senior Manager - Design & Architecture

Role & responsibilities

• Lead the complete technical design lifecycle for interior fit-out projects, from GFC drawings and BOQs to shop drawing approvals, design validation and execution support.
• Review and approve GFC and shop drawings (within 24-48 hours), ensuring accuracy, coordination and compliance with design intent, statutory norms and technical standards.
• Lead BOQ preparation and review with Concept, Procurement and Projects teams, keeping cost variance within 5% and avoiding major omissions.
• Drive value engineering by identifying alternative materials and specifications that reduce cost without compromising design quality.
• Mentor and manage a team of 56 architects/design professionals: allocate work, track quality and timelines, and conduct performance reviews.
• Coordinate with Concept Design, Procurement, Projects, Execution and IT/AV teams, and resolve site RFIs and technical queries on time.
• Conduct site visits (minimum 2 per month) to audit execution quality against approved drawings and specifications.
• Manage external stakeholders including clients, vendors, OEMs, consultants and contractors, and handle technical escalations.
• Research and introduce new materials and construction techniques, and run vendor workshops.
• Standardize drawings, details and workflows to reduce rework, drawing volumes and turnaround time.
• Ensure tender documents are issued within 34 working days for projects up to ~25,000 sq. ft.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors/Master’s in Architecture, Interior Design, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of GFC and shop drawings, BOQs, tender documentation and AutoCAD.
• Understanding of materials, finishes, lighting, MEP coordination, fire safety and costing.
• Proven team leadership, stakeholder management and ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines
