About this role
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Manager, Client Operations based in the United States.
This is a senior leadership opportunity within a multi-client healthcare revenue cycle environment, overseeing teams responsible for delivering high-quality billing and operational outcomes. You will lead managers and associates, translating performance data and client needs into clear priorities, coaching strategies, and measurable improvements. The role combines people leadership, client relationship management, revenue cycle operations, reporting, and continuous process improvement. You will have significant ownership over accounts receivable workflows, billing timelines, payment posting, reconciliations, and client reporting. As a leader of leaders, you will help build a culture centered on productivity, accountability, service quality, and responsiveness. You will work cross-functionally with internal teams, clients, vendors, and senior leadership to resolve challenges and strengthen operational performance. This is a fully remote role offering the opportunity to make a direct impact on both client success and team development.
Accountabilities:: Lead and develop assigned revenue cycle managers and associates, providing clear direction, coaching, performance management, and ongoing feedback.
Drive high standards of service, productivity, quality, responsiveness, and accountability while ensuring established operational metrics are consistently met or exceeded.
Monitor team performance and provide leadership with regular updates on key metrics, trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Oversee accounts receivable activities, including worklist management, billing timelines, payment posting trends, reconciliations, high-priority assignments, and resolution of outstanding process statuses.
Manage client relationships through proactive communication, regular check-ins, issue resolution, and ongoing discussions around accomplishments, risks, and operational priorities.
Review client accounts and monthly dashboards covering case volume, cash performance, issues, KPIs, and other critical operational indicators, providing actionable feedback and recommendations.
Manage month-end reporting, client billing reconciliation, fee schedule updates, charge master increases, contract grids, client profiles, and preparation of client invoices.
Identify client needs and recommend best-practice workflows, using data and analytical insights to guide operational decisions and improve outcomes.
Lead performance improvement initiatives, strategic planning, project development, and execution of operational plans across assigned teams and clients.
Partner with Human Resources on recruitment activities, including application reviews, interviews, candidate evaluation, and hiring recommendations.
Collaborate with other departments and third-party vendors to resolve associate and client challenges efficiently and ensure issues are brought to resolution.
Review quality assurance cases, correct statuses where necessary, and provide targeted feedback and coaching to improve team performance.
Escalate significant operational or client issues to senior revenue cycle leadership while maintaining clear communication and appropriate follow-through.
Manage staffing, training, coaching, tooling, and resource needs to support service delivery and department objectives while remaining aligned with budget expectations.
Requirements
Demonstrated experience leading teams in a healthcare revenue cycle, medical billing, client operations, or comparable multi-client service environment.
Experience managing managers or other leaders, with a strong track record of coaching teams, establishing accountability, and improving performance against defined goals.
Strong understanding of revenue cycle operations, including accounts receivable, billing, payment posting, reconciliation, worklists, client reporting, and related financial workflows.
Proven ability to use operational metrics, dashboards, and data analysis to identify issues, provide direction, and drive measurable improvements.
Strong client-facing communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships, communicate proactively, and address complex questions or concerns with confidence.
Excellent leadership and coaching abilities, including experience providing constructive feedback, managing performance, developing employees, and addressing underperformance when necessary.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients, priorities, deadlines, and operational initiatives simultaneously.
Ability to collaborate effectively with senior leaders, internal departments, Human Resources, external vendors, and client stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with a practical approach to identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
Experience participating in strategic planning, process improvement, project development, and execution.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate operational performance, risks, recommendations, and progress.
Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while maintaining proactive communication and consistent follow-through.
