Senior Linux Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Linux Engineer with 8+ years of experience to deploy and support secure Linux platforms in enterprise and data centre environments. Strong expertise in NixOS, RHEL, Linux networking, firewalls, and security is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy and support enterprise Linux servers across production and non-production environments.
• Manage NixOS, RHEL, GUIX, and other immutable Linux platforms.
• Configure Linux networking, VLANs, routing, Layer 2, security zoning, and nftables.
• Integrate and support Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Check Point firewalls.
• Implement Linux hardening, security controls, and network segmentation.
• Support Cilium, Suricata, and Zeek where applicable.
• Perform upgrades, patching, migrations, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with Network, Security, Cloud, and Infrastructure teams.
• Maintain technical documentation and follow change management processes.

Mandatory Skills

• 8+ years of Linux administration/engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with NixOS and RHEL.
• Experience with GUIX or immutable Linux OS.
• Strong knowledge of Linux networking, TCP/IP, VLANs, security zoning, and stateful firewalls.
• Hands-on nftables experience.
• Experience with enterprise firewalls: Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point.
• Strong troubleshooting and enterprise/data centre experience.
• Familiarity with ITIL and change management.

Preferred Skills

• Cilium, Suricata, Zeek, Kubernetes, Docker.
• Automation tools: Ansible, Puppet, SaltStack.
• Scripting: Bash, Python, Shell.
• SELinux, Linux hardening, IaC/DevOps, and cloud platforms.
• Certifications such as RHCE, RHCSA, LFCS, LFCE, CKA, or ITIL Foundation.
