Senior Legal Counsel

Role & responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements with US healthcare providers, healthcare payers, pharmaceutical companies, and other clients.
• Negotiate complex procurement, partnership, and vendor agreements with US and Indian entities.
• Advise business teams on contractual obligations, legal risks, and company policies.
• Conduct regulatory research and support compliance with applicable Indian and US laws.
• Collaborate with external counsel on contracts, compliance, disputes, and intellectual property matters.
• Support legal matters relating to software licensing, AI/ML solutions, patents, trade secrets, and protection of intellectual property.
• Identify opportunities to streamline contracting workflows and improve legal processes.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a reputed Indian university; an LLM or US law degree is an advantage.
• 812 years of experience as an in-house corporate lawyer.
• Strong experience in commercial contract drafting, review, and negotiation.
• Experience in healthcare, healthcare technology, pharmaceuticals, SaaS, AI, or digital health is preferred.
• Familiarity with Indian and US legal frameworks, including HIPAA, the DPDP Act, and relevant FDA/CDSCO regulations.
• Ability to understand legal risks associated with software, AI/ML systems, technology licensing, and intellectual property.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
