Senior Lead - Strategic Sourcing - Electronics

1. Strategic Semiconductor Sourcing • Develop and execute sourcing strategies and category roadmaps for semiconductors and active/passive electronic components. • Drive TCO reduction, second-sourcing, alternate part qualification and cost optimization. • Align sourcing strategies with vehicle programs, BOM forecasts and business requirements. • Ensure the right balance of cost, quality, delivery, allocation and supply continuity in a constrained-supply market. 2. Semiconductor & Electronics Category Sourcing Lead sourcing for critical semiconductor and electronic categories including: • Microcontrollers (MCUs), processors and SoCs • Power semiconductors MOSFETs, IGBTs, diodes and power management ICs • Analog, mixed-signal and interface ICs • Memory (Flash/EEPROM/RAM) and sensors • PCB / PCBA and passive components (resistors, capacitors, inductors) • Battery Management System (BMS) and motor controller ICs Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing, distribution channels, allocation cycles and PCB/box-build processes is preferred. 3. Supplier & Distributor Management • Identify, evaluate and onboard semiconductor manufacturers (OEMs/foundries), authorized distributors and franchised partners. • Conduct technical, commercial, capacity and financial evaluations/audits of suppliers and distributors. • Build strategic relationships with key semiconductor OEMs and distributors to secure allocation and priority supply. • Manage franchise vs. broker-market sourcing decisions, ensuring authenticity and traceability of components. • Monitor supplier performance through cost, quality, delivery, lead-time and allocation-responsiveness KPIs. 4. Costing & Negotiation • Lead RFQ/RFI, quotation analysis and commercial negotiations with OEMs and distributors. • Develop should-cost models and TCO analysis specific to semiconductor pricing trends and market cycles. • Negotiate pricing, allocation commitments, payment terms, lead times and long-term supply agreements (LTSAs). • Drive annual cost-reduction, price-erosion tracking and value-engineering initiatives. 5. Purchase, Allocation & Supply Execution • Ensure timely and accurate PO release for semiconductor components against production and NPD requirements. • Track lead times, allocation status, open POs and shipment schedules closely given typical semiconductor lead-time volatility. • Coordinate with Planning, Production, Stores, Finance, R&D, Engineering and Quality teams to prevent line-down situations. • Ensure uninterrupted component availability, proactively managing allocation risk and buffer/safety-stock strategy. 6. NPD, Quality & Component Qualification • Work with R&D, Design and Engineering teams on component specifications, cross-referencing and supplier selection. • Coordinate component qualification, PCN (Product Change Notice) management, APQP and PPAP with Quality/SQA teams. • Support supplier audits, obsolescence/EOL management and corrective actions. • Ensure compliance with applicable quality and reliability standards, including IATF 16949 and AEC-Q for automotive-grade components. 7. Contract & Risk Management • Manage and negotiate MSA, NDA, LTSAs and distributor/franchise agreements. • Identify risks related to allocation shortages, single sourcing, geopolitical/export-control exposure and logistics disruption. • Develop dual-sourcing, second-source qualification, alternate-part cross-referencing and contingency plans for critical semiconductor components. • Monitor global semiconductor market trends, lead-time indices and price movements to inform proactive risk mitigation.
