    About this role

    Project description

    Perform embedded system software design and implementation for a leading high-performance data networking product and as a member of a highly capable and dynamic engineering team.

    Responsibilities

    Analyze requirements, design, develop and deliver high quality software along with functional team.

  1. Participate in SW Design reviews, articulate system software requirements

  2. Experiment and project various performance/scale tweaks with optimal use of Board HW devices and SW resource

  3. Demonstrate cross functional collaboration with Product Marketing, SQA and other development teams to ensure software meets all performance, scalability, interop, and security requirements

  4. Lead control plane software agile team, interact cross functionally on matters that require coordination across organization lines.

  5. Write functional and design specification documents and drive sign-off. Interface with developers, QA, Documentation Customer Support, program management teams.

  6. Participate in full product life cycle development.
    7. Skills

    Must have

    Minimum of B.S./B.E./B.Tech in CS/EE/ECE

  7. 4 to 12 years of relevant industry experience in Networking/Telecom

  8. Embedded/Network Management

  9. Strong understanding of routing algorithms, data structures and open-source integration.

  10. Strong understanding of control plane and data networking concepts

  11. Excellent knowledge of Layer-2 Bridging protocols

  12. STP/MSTP/RSTP, 802.1p/q/v, 802.3ad, 802.1x, IGMP, ERPS

  13. Strong knowledge of Layer-3 Routing protocols

  14. TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, OSPF, BGP, PIM, ISIS

  15. In-depth understanding of Linux operating systems and embedded software development

  16. Excellent programming knowledge in C/C++

  17. Experience in trouble shooting debugging memory leaks, performance bottlenecks

  18. Experience working with multi-site project teams

  19. Ability to learn on the job and ready to take up challenges

  20. Should be able to implement and handle the complete delivery of the component/modules owned

  21. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  22. Ability to be productive in flexible and dynamic work environments

  23. Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills

    24. Nice to have

    Exposure to GO and microservices architecture
