Senior Internal Auditor - Gold Loan

As part of its commitment to maintaining strong governance, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance, Vistaar Finance seeks a competent Gold Loan Auditor to strengthen its Internal Audit function.Role PurposeThe Gold Loan Auditor will be responsible for conducting independent audits of gold loan operations across branches. Ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, operational controls, and risk management frameworks. The role will focus on assessing the end-to-end gold loan process, including gold acceptance, gold appraisal,  valuation, safekeeping, disbursement, documentation, auction processes, and related controls.Key Responsibilities

• Conduct audits of the gold loan business in accordance with the approved audit plan.
• Perform surprise audits and physical verification of pledged gold ornaments/articles at branches.
• Perform gold appraisal, purity assessment, weight verification, and valuation processes.
• Examine loan-to-value (LTV) compliance and adequacy of collateral coverage.
• Review customer onboarding, KYC documentation, sanctioning, disbursement, renewal, and closure processes.
• Validate custody and security controls relating to gold storage, vault management, dual custody operations, and movement of pledged ornaments.
• Audit auction processes for overdue accounts and assess compliance with approved procedures.
• Identify operational, fraud, financial, and compliance risks in the gold loan portfolio.
• Assess adherence to RBI regulations, internal policies, audit standards, and statutory requirements applicable to NBFCs.
• Recommend corrective and preventive actions to strengthen controls and reduce operational risk.
• Prepare comprehensive audit reports highlighting observations, risk ratings, root causes, and actionable recommendations.
• Monitor closure of audit observations and validate implementation of corrective actions.
• Maintain audit documentation and working papers in line with internal audit standards.
• Support continuous auditing initiatives and process improvement projects.

Educational Qualification

• Graduation 

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Gold loan audit( Preferably gold appraisal, purity assessment, weight verification, valuation, and auction processes)

Skills

• Strong understanding of gold loan products, operational processes, and associated risks along with RBI regulations.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, audit tools, and reporting systems.
• Working knowledge of data analytics techniques will be an advantage.
• High level of integrity and professional ethics.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills.
• Effective report writing and communication skills.
• Extensive travel across branch locations and regional offices as per audit schedules.Role & responsibilities
