Senior Interior Designer

We are looking for a creative and experienced Senior Interior Designer to lead residential and commercial interior design projects from concept to completion. The ideal candidate should possess strong design sensibilities, excellent client management skills, and the ability to mentor and lead a design team while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The core responsibilities for the job include the following:

Design Leadership:

• Lead the conceptualization and development of innovative interior design solutions aligned with client requirements and project objectives.
• Develop design concepts, mood boards, material palettes, color schemes, and presentation decks.
• Ensure all designs balance aesthetics, functionality, budget, and execution feasibility.
• Review and approve design outputs, drawings, and visualizations prepared by the design team.

Client Engagement:

• Lead client meetings to understand project requirements, lifestyle needs, and business objectives.
• Present design concepts, material selections, and project proposals with confidence.
• Build strong client relationships and serve as the primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
• Effectively manage client expectations, incorporate feedback, and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.

Team Management:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of interior designers and design associates.
• Allocate tasks, review work, and provide technical and creative guidance.
• Foster collaboration within the design team and ensure adherence to design standards and timelines.
• Support the professional development of junior designers through coaching and regular feedback.

Design Development and Visualization:

• Prepare and review detailed space planning, furniture layouts, and design documentation.
• Coordinate the development of high-quality 2D drawings, 3D visualizations, renders, and walkthroughs.
• Ensure design intent is accurately reflected in all presentation and execution drawings.

Material and Furniture Expertise:

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of furniture design, ergonomics, materials, veneers, laminates, fabrics, natural stones, metals, lighting, and finishes.
• Prepare furniture specifications and custom furniture design details.
• Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers for material sourcing, approvals, and procurement.

Project Coordination and Site Execution:

• Oversee project execution to ensure alignment with approved designs.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, vendors, and site teams.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve design and execution challenges, and maintain quality standards.
• Ensure projects are delivered within agreed timelines and budgets.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Prepare and review design documentation, BOQs, specifications, and project reports.
• Maintain project records, design revisions, and material approvals.
• Provide regular project updates to management, highlighting progress, risks, and mitigation plans.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in interior design or architecture.
• 5-8+ years of experience in interior design, with experience leading end-to-end projects.
• Proven ability to manage clients, lead design teams, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong design aesthetics with excellent space planning and detailing skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and project coordination skills.
• Software Proficiency: AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max and V-Ray (Preferred), Lumion/Enscape, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel.
