Senior Hvac Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Design Engineer to an Building Services Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of HVAC systems for diverse building projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, authority requirements, and project specifications. The role requires strong technical expertise in HVAC system design, cooling load calculations, BIM modelling, and multidisciplinary coordination, along with hands-on experience in Revit and exposure to Gulf/UAE projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver HVAC designs for commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, and other building projects.
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations, equipment selection, duct sizing, and ventilation calculations.
• Design HVAC systems, including chilled water systems, VRF/VRV systems, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation, and exhaust systems.
• Prepare and review HVAC layouts, schematics, equipment schedules, technical specifications, and detailed design drawings.
• Develop and coordinate HVAC models using Revit, ensuring compliance with project BIM standards and requirements.
• Conduct multidisciplinary coordination with electrical, plumbing, firefighting, structural, and architectural teams.
• Review HVAC drawings and models for design accuracy, spatial requirements, constructability, and clash resolution.
• Ensure compliance with applicable international standards, local authority regulations, and project-specific requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and meet project deliverables.
• Support technical reviews, design calculations, value engineering, and quality assurance activities.
• Monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery of high-quality design documentation.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8-14 years of overall experience, with substantial experience in HVAC design within an engineering or design consultancy environment.
• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC design principles, cooling load calculations, system selection, equipment sizing, and building services engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Revit is mandatory.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Navisworks, HAP, and BIM 360.
• Strong experience in HVAC drafting, BIM modelling, design development, coordination, and space planning.
• Thorough understanding of relevant HVAC codes, standards, engineering guidelines, and authority requirements.
• Proven experience in multidisciplinary coordination and preparation of HVAC design deliverables.
• Gulf/UAE project experience is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple deliverables, and meet project deadlines.
