Senior HR Manager - Operations & Compliance

Role & Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end HR operations, including employee onboarding, documentation, probation, confirmation, transfers and exit formalities.
• Manage end-to-end recruitment activities including manpower planning, sourcing, screening, interviews, selection, offer management and onboarding.
• Ensure timely and accurate management of employee attendance, leave, late coming, shift schedules and related HR processes.
• Coordinate monthly payroll processing and ensure accurate submission of attendance, leave, deductions, salary revisions and other payroll inputs.
• Manage statutory HR compliances including EPF/PF, ESI, Professional Tax (PT) and applicable labour-law requirements.
• Maintain accurate employee records, statutory registers, HR documentation and compliance-related records.
• Coordinate with payroll and statutory consultants/vendors and ensure timely completion of all statutory filings, payments and submissions.
• Develop, implement and maintain HR policies and processes related to attendance, leave, probation, notice period, employee conduct and other HR operations.
• Handle employee queries, grievances, disciplinary matters and HR-related escalations professionally.
• Manage complete employee exit processes including resignation, notice period, clearance, Full & Final settlement coordination, relieving and experience letters.
• Prepare and maintain HR MIS reports covering headcount, recruitment, attrition, attendance, leave, payroll and compliance.
• Ensure HR processes are aligned with applicable labour laws and company policies.
• Coordinate with management on HR-related matters and provide timely reports, insights and recommendations.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee information and ensure proper handling of sensitive HR and payroll data.
• Drive process improvements and automation across HR operations to support a growing startup environment.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Commerce or a related field.
• 58 years of relevant experience in HR Operations, HR Generalist, HR Compliance or HR Manager roles.
• Strong hands-on experience in EPF/PF, ESI and Professional Tax (PT) compliance.
• Practical experience managing end-to-end recruitment and hiring across technical and non-technical positions.
• Strong understanding of attendance, leave management, payroll inputs, employee lifecycle and exit processes.
• Experience working with payroll/HRMS/attendance systems and statutory compliance portals.
• Good understanding of applicable Indian labour laws and statutory HR requirements.
• Experience in managing HR operations in a startup or fast-growing technology/IT organization will be preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and employee-management skills.
• Ability to independently manage HR operations with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail, ownership and ability to handle confidential information.
• Good analytical and reporting skills, with proficiency in MS Excel/Google Sheets.
• Should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities.
• Candidates who can independently handle both HR Operations and Compliance will be strongly preferred.
