Senior Garnishment Analyst

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Wage Garnishment Specialist to manage wage garnishment operations for the United States and Canada. The ideal candidate will have experience processing court-ordered deductions, including child support, tax levies, bankruptcy orders, and student loan garnishments, while ensuring accurate payroll processing and compliance with applicable regulations.

The role also involves payroll reconciliation, stakeholder coordination, audit support, process improvement, automation, and system enhancement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and administer wage garnishments, including child support, tax levies, bankruptcy orders, and student loan deductions.
• Review court orders and legal notices and ensure accurate garnishment setup in payroll systems.
• Ensure timely and accurate deductions, remittances, and record maintenance in accordance with applicable US and Canadian regulations.
• Respond to employee, government agency, and court inquiries related to garnishment processing.
• Perform account reconciliations and support electronic funds transfers (EFT) and payment-related activities.
• Investigate and resolve garnishment discrepancies, processing errors, and compliance-related issues.
• Support internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, standardization, and automation in garnishment operations.
• Coordinate with payroll, HR, IT, and external stakeholders to implement system enhancements and resolve operational issues.
• Monitor operational metrics and KPIs to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
• Provide technical guidance and serve as a subject matter expert for wage garnishment-related queries and projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in payroll operations, wage garnishment processing, payroll compliance, or related functions.
• Practical knowledge of US and/or Canadian payroll garnishment processes.
• Experience handling child support orders, tax levies, bankruptcy garnishments, and other court-ordered deductions.
• Knowledge of payroll deductions, garnishment calculations, payment remittances, and payroll reconciliation.
• Experience with SAP Z5C, ServiceNow, Microsoft Office, and advanced Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and resolve complex operational issues.
• Advanced English communication skills.
